Is It Gluten Free?

The answer is NO. Unagi Sauce contains Soy Sauce, which is made from wheat. This means it contains a gluten-containing ingredient and is unsafe for individuals with celiac or gluten sensitivity. Additionally, the brand itself has listed that it is not gluten-free certified.

Moreover, Glucose Syrup and fermented seasoning may sometimes contain gluten, depending on the source of starch used.

Ingredients

Soy sauce (water, soybeans, wheat, salt, ethyl alcohol), glucose syrup (corn starch, potato starch, sweet potato starch), sugar, fermented seasoning (liquid glucose (sweet potato starch), water, rice, ethyl alcohol, salt), caramel color, ethyl alcohol, monosodium glutamate, disodium 5’ribonucleotide.

Final Thought

Unagi sauce contains gluten and is not certified gluten-free, not safe for celiac individuals.
